Son dönemlerde küresel ölçekte özellikle güneş enerjisine olan ilginin arttığı görülmektedir. Panel ve hücre teknolojisinde yaşanan gelişmeler, kurulumların kolaylığı, zaman içerisinde düşen maliyetler ve çeşitli devletlerin aldıkları önlem ve sağladıkları teşvikler sayesinde, fotovoltaik sistemler kendisine küresel alanda oldukça önemli bir yer edinmiştir. Özellikle kablo kayıplarının azaltıldığı net elektriğin elde edildiği çatı sistemleri, güneş enerjisinin geleceği olarak düşünülmektedir. Uluslararası Enerji Ajansı’na göre 2050 yılına kadar güneş enerjisinin dünya elektrik ihtiyacının %11’ini karşılayacağı öngörülmektedir. Ancak güneş enerjisi, sürdürülebilir, temiz enerji kaynağı olmakla birlikte, elektrik üretiminin saat, gün ve mevsim ile doğru orantılı değiştiği kesintili bir kaynaktır.

Solar energy, which is one of the renewable energy sources and the basis of energy sources, is the most dominant among the energy production sources considering the sun receiving potential for our country. In our country, the issue of electricity generation using solar energy is quite widespread. In addition, there is a higher solar energy potential than many European Union countries that use solar energy in electricity generation. In this study, solar energy is evaluated in terms of Turkey and the world and its methods in electrical energy production are emphasized.

Today, the demand for energy is gradually increasing due to rapid population growth, concentration of population in cities, urban planning without taking into account energy efficiency and security, increased energy consumption in transportation, industry and housing, and as a result, transformation into a consumer society. In this study, within the framework of this approach, a field study was conducted to test the attitudes of the regulatory authority, the sector, users and investors regarding the impact of renewable energy on sustainable development in Turkey. In this regard, a questionnaire prepared in line with the literature was applied,

Sürdürülebilir kalkınma için yenilenebilir enerji tanımlarına dair katılımcı tutumları da saha araştırmasındaki en önemli bulgulardan olmuştur. Araştırmada katılımcıların %70,9’u, yenilenebilir enerjinin sürdürülebilir kalkınmada belirleyici olduğunu, %15,7’si çok fark ettirmediğini, %13,4’ü önemli olmadığını belirtmiştir.
