Summary
Interest in solar energy has grown worldwide. Thanks to advances in panel and cell technology, easier installation, falling costs and government incentives, photovoltaic systems have become a major part of the global energy mix. Rooftop systems, which reduce cable losses and deliver net electricity, are seen as the future of solar energy. The International Energy Agency expects solar to meet 11% of the world’s electricity needs by 2050. While solar is a sustainable, clean source, it is also intermittent, as output varies with the hour, day and season.
Summary
Solar energy, which is one of the renewable energy sources and the basis of energy sources, is the most dominant among the energy production sources considering the sun receiving potential for our country. In our country, the issue of electricity generation using solar energy is quite widespread. In addition, there is a higher solar energy potential than many European Union countries that use solar energy in electricity generation. In this study, solar energy is evaluated in terms of Turkey and the world and its methods in electrical energy production are emphasized.
Summary
Today, the demand for energy is gradually increasing due to rapid population growth, concentration of population in cities, urban planning without taking into account energy efficiency and security, increased energy consumption in transportation, industry and housing, and as a result, transformation into a consumer society. However, within the scope of combating global climate change by meeting the increasing energy demand; global energy supply, transmission, distribution and consumption tend to shift from traditional energy sources to renewable energy sources (water, solar, wind, geothermal, geothermal, wave, biomass and wastes) and holistic planning.
Summary
Rising consumption, production and energy demand worldwide — and with them rising costs — have put renewable energy at the top of the agenda, and solar is the best known renewable source. Depleting resources, pollution from fossil fuels and renewable energy subsidies have become central to almost every government’s energy policy.
Summary
An energy policy linked to sustainable development must rest on three principles that cannot be achieved without each other: ecological carrying capacity, economic efficiency and social equity. Energy policy interacts with economic, social and environmental factors, and the necessary policies should first be sought within these frameworks.
Summary
The sun stands out as both a powerful and clean energy source. Because it is inexhaustible and has the effect of reducing import dependency, there has been a remarkable progress in solar technologies in recent years.
Summary
Current research programs include comparative energy and environmental policy, sustainable development, political economy of energy, environment and development, environmental justice, conservation and renewable energy options, integrated resource planning and technology environment and society.
Graduate specializations in energy and environmental policy are supported by master’s and doctoral level applications. The market for most solar technologies has seen dramatic expansion over the last decade, with the expansion of the market for grid-connected PV systems and solar hot water systems being particularly noteworthy.
Summary
China has recently been at the forefront of the global expansion of renewable energy (RE) activity. This article examines how the country has become the world’s largest producer and exporter of renewable energy products and the largest producer of electricity from renewable energy.
Summary
An energy policy linked to sustainable development needs to build on these three principles, which cannot be realized without ensuring ecological carrying capacity, economic efficiency and social equity. Energy policies are interrelated with many factors such as economic, social and environmental, and the necessary policies should be sought primarily within these frameworks. Accordingly, efforts are underway to lay the groundwork for sustainable development in Turkey and an energy future linked to sustainability. In this study, within the framework of this approach, a field study was conducted to test the attitudes of the regulatory authority, the sector, users and investors regarding the impact of renewable energy on sustainable development in Turkey. In this regard, a questionnaire prepared in line with the literature was applied,
The survey covered 240 participants from different parts of Türkiye. Participants’ views on renewable energy for sustainable development were among the key findings: 70.9% said renewable energy is decisive for sustainable development, 15.7% said it makes little difference and 13.4% said it is not important.
